- Cantors – those involved in this ministry assist with the leading of the sung prayer at Mass. Quarterly rehearsals are scheduled for vocal training and spiritual formation. Cantors normally audition for this ministry and, after a period of formation, begin serving as cantor at several Masses each month.
- Parish Choir – this ensemble both enhances and supports the song of the assembly. Choral repertoire is prepared and sung throughout the year. A wide variety of styles of music is sung, with an emphasis on the classical idiom. The choir is open to all singers, high school age and older. No audition is necessary, but reading music is an asset. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from
7 – 9 p.m.; Sunday Masses are usually the 9:30 a.m. Mass as well as holy days and the annual Lessons and Carols service in December.
- Contemporary Group – this ensemble draws on music that, while diverse in style, is primarily from contemporary idioms. The group meets approximately once a month, usually the third Sunday of each month at the 9:30 a.m. Mass (meeting at 8:30 a.m.).
- Music for Children – this year all children of our parish in grades K-8 are invited to participate in singing through the PREP program (Religious Education). Each month, a different class will devote some class time to prepare music to sing at Sunday Mass, usually the third Sunday of the month at 9:30 a.m. In addition, two seasonal choirs will offer an opportunity to sing: the Christmas Choir (rehearsals will begin in mid-November) and the Easter Choir (rehearsals will begin in early March). Both of these seasonal choirs will involve rehearsals at a time to be announced. See the Music Director for more specific information.
